Mental Health First Aiders are a hugely important part of an organisation that puts employee well-being first. A Mental Health First Aider is not a therapist or a psychiatrist. They are there as a lifeline for your colleagues and can provide initial support and signpost to appropriate help if required.
This course requires no previous experience or knowledge, but as with all training, an employer should give proper consideration to the qualities of the person being trained as a Mental Health First Aider and as someone who could be approached by a colleague if they required support. Our two-day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider. Mental Health First Aiders have:
We limit numbers to 16 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and support them while they learn. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan. Everyone who completes the course gets an MHFA manual to keep and refer to whenever they need it, and a certificate to say they are a Mental Health First Aider.
